the Contemporary Jewish Museum. As
always, the hands-on fun inspires

exhibitions on display in the
galleries, the buildings

materials and art techniques.

2012: Summer Nature Sculptures
Inspired by the many sculptures
included in the Museums exhibition
Do Not Destroy: Trees, Art, and
Jewish Thought, use recycled and
upcycled materials to create your
own 3-dimensional work of art. And
while youre here, contribute to a
community tree sculpture designed by
Museum educators.

The 50th anniversary season of the
Cabrillo Festival culminates with
two performances in the magnificence
of Mission San Juan Bautista. The
Festival Orchestra presents Michael
Ippolito's Nocturne, a work
originally inspired by Joan Miro's
1940 painting. Next is composer John
Mackey's Harvest: Concerto for
Trombone. a work dedicated to and
featuring Joseph Alessi on trombone.
Iranian composer Behzad Ranjbaran
returns with Seven Passages, the
final work of his Persian Trilogy.
The concert closes with British
composer Thomas Ades' Polaris. Of
this work, Joshua Kosman of the San
Francisco Chronicle wrote, "there's
a rapturous sheen to the score that
makes it impossible to resist."
