Innovative classes taught by talented instructors with university degrees will improve your cultural competence and Spanish skills. Participants lodge with warm Mexican families in a humble, colorful neighborhood.

Join us this July for two or three weeks to visit a school, interview a teacher, cook Mexican recipes and strengthen your Spanish. Return to the US much more confident to interact with the recent immigrants in your area.

Having exhausted all 102 counties in Illinois, Professor Harold Hill gives Iowa a try and soon enough convinces River City of its trouble with the sin and corruption of the pool hall, trouble that can only be stopped by forming a boys band. Marian the librarian suspects hes a con man, but she begins to trust him after seeing how hes given confidence to her shy younger brother. Soon, this Music Man has transformed the entire town, not only turning the bickering school board into a barbershop quartet, but himself into an honest man.

outdoor concerts brings a mixture of
traditional Bluegrass with modern
influences, from this Bay Area based
American five-piece progressive
bluegrass act. Hot Buttered Rum
weaves together the traditions of
folk and bluegrass with the modern
influences of rock-n-roll, reggae
and acoustic winger/songwriters.
Internationally known five-string
banjo life force Bill Evans opens
the evening with special fun on the
banjo. We invite all to throw a
blanket on the turf, secure a picnic
table next to the playground, sit on
chairs, get up and dance, bring the
kids and play together, or make it a
date night. Bring a picnic or

Consort and regular member Laura
Rubinstein-Salzedo is leaving the
Bay Area for a couple of years to
attend the Juilliard School in New
York. This concert is a benefit to
raise funds for graduate studies and
will feature her wonderful teacher
and well-known Bay Area violinist
Elizabeth Blumenstock. Other
musicians: Jonathan Salzedo
(harpsichord) and Marion Rubinstein
(harpsichord/organ), Vijay Chalasani
(viola) and Gretchen Claassen
(cello). Music will include some
hefty solo Bach, sonatas by Biber
and Leclair, and Bach's double
harpsichord concerto in C.

COST:
$25 suggested donation.
