Marian the librarian suspects hes a con man, but she begins to trust him after seeing how hes given confidence to her shy younger brother. Soon, this Music Man has transformed the entire town, not only turning the bickering school board into a barbershop quartet, but himself into an honest man.

The San Francisco Girls Chorus
welcomes guest conductor Brandon
Brack and guest pianist, composer
and popular "From the Top" program
host Christopher O'Riley for
concerts June 8 and 9, 2012 at the
San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
Brack will work with the 40 members
of the San Francisco Girls Chorus in
rehearsal and coaching from April
through June, overseeing its award-
winning artistry and preparing the
Chorus in repertoire for the June
performances. The program for the
concerts includes the world premiere
of Christopher O'Riley's
arrangements of Joni Mitchell works
from "Song for a Seagull," including
"I Had a King," "Sisotowbell Lane,"
"The Pirate of Penance" and "Cactus
Tree."

An achingly human folktale in the tradition of Zora Neale Hurston.

Written by the first Black American woman to win the Olivier Award for Best New Play, Hoodoo Love is set during the Great Depression and tells the story of a young woman who has escaped the Delta cotton fields to pursue her dream of becoming a Blues singer in Memphis. She falls for a rambling Blues man and whips up a potion of hoodoo magic to win his love. But when her past catches up with her, not even the magic can protect her. A play with blues music about a woman learning to rely on herself.
