Long Day's Journey Into Night at Arena Stage

Sponsored by Arena Stage - Click here to see any other events from this sponsor.

From: Friday, March 30, 2012

Washington, DC - Long Days Journey Into Night
Written by Eugene ONeill
Directed by Robin Phillips
In the Kreeger Theater
March 30-May 6, 2012
Part of the Eugene ONeill Festival

Delusion and disenchantment have pitted the Tyrone family members against one another for decades. One fateful day, as their increasingly drunken hours slip by, they must either confront their defeated dreams or else be forever doomed to a cycle of guilt and resentment. Eugene ONeills autobiographical masterwork exposes the lies we tell, the deceptions we craft, and the undercurrent of compassion that, if uncovered, can redeem us in the end. This Pulitzer Prize-winning American treasure restores the drama to literature and the theater to art (New York Times).

Love Poems from God

Sponsored by Unity of Santa Rosa - Click here to see any other events from this sponsor.

From: Wednesday, April 11, 2012
To: Wednesday, May 16, 2012

Santa Rosa, CA - 6-Week Class on Wednesdays
Begins Wed. April 11th, 6:30-8pm
Facilitated by Rev. Alyzsa Van Til

The writers, from what we called the Dark Ages, will inspire and feed us in our dark times. Each week we will read writings from Eastern and Western mystics whose poems are an intimate journal of discovering God within. They say such provocative things as, Every prophets name is a key as is every heart full of forgiveness and love.

The class will be using the book Love Poems from God: Twelve Sacred Voices From The East & West by Daniel Ladinsky. Please sign up for the class so that we can order enough books.

Rev. Alyzsa Van Til formerly taught Bible Interpretation at Unity School for Religious Studies, now known as Unity Institute. She has recently retired as minister at Unity of Brookings, Oregon.

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

Walnut Creek, CA - The challenges faced by first-time
managers are many -- lack of
training, promotion based on current
position performance rather than
management qualities, no clear
expectations, poor communication,
etc. How do you ensure the success
of these critical assets?

Map out a successful game plan that
begins long before the promotion
occurs; a plan that includes clear
skill sets and promotional fits,
individual development plans, and
training and assignments to help the
candidate prepare. After all, their
success is in your hands. And your
organization's success depends on
it.

Leave this session armed with a
clear set of guidelines for
developing successful first-time
managers.

Creating a Culture of Innovation

Sponsored by Northern California Human Resources Association - Click here to see any other events from this sponsor.

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

San Rafael, CA - As organizations move through the
mature stages of quality,
empowerment and high performance,
creativity becomes a necessity. Yet
most people utilize less than 50% of
their creative and intuitive
ability. This is not because of
inherent limitations, rather an
unawareness of how to incorporate
relatively simple procedures into
their daily routine.

In this highly interactive
presentation, you'll gain tools and
models for promoting and sustaining
a culture of innovation in your
organization. Go beyond linear
progression in solving business and
managerial problems and learn to
integrate creativity in a way that
becomes a regular part of your day-
to-day operation.

COST:
General: $35 / NCHRA Members: $0.
